I am installing winxp on a new barebones kit computer with my old hard
drive. I fdisked my hard drive and put it in my new barebones, had no
trouble installing windows millinium, but when I went to install
winxp, I get this stop error in the middle of installation. I do not
get an option to do a "repair installation". I have reset my bios to
default settings, but still no good. I remember having this problem
when I did this to another computer, but can NOT remember what I did
to resolve the problem, I only remember it was a pain!! Any
suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I am in a corner here.
thanks!!

Try setting in the bios, the boot from cd option and boot
from the XP cd directly. Let XP format and add a fresh
copy to the C partition (if you have that option) you can
create other partitions later with XP's disk management
option.

Hi,

Stop 0x7b is an inaccessible boot device. Generally means boot.ini is
pointing to the wrong place or the hardware is misconfigured. Try letting
WinXP's setup create and format the partition instead of using fdisk.
