stop editing appointments when you single click them

Hi. In the Calander, generally week view, when you single click an
appointment, and wait 1 second, it will automatically try to edit the
appointment subject. How do you turn this off
 
you don't - just click on the side bar (little blue strip) and then the text
won't select.
