I'm having a problem with this stop code error message.
When I research Microsoft's site, it says that the FQDN is
too long, that I need to install the next service pack,
and that a workaround would be to rename the computer one
character shorter and reboot. (This computer has been
used for several years with the same name and all of a
sudden has this problem?)
First of all, how do I install a service pack when I
cannot get the computer to boot at all??
Secondly, how can I rename the computer in a DOS prompt???
Can anyone help???? Thanks!

P.S. the rest of the stop code states that Windows logon
process terminated with a status of 0X00000080
(0X000000000 0X000000000). The system has been shut down.
