Stop automatically going to "log in screen"

Hi

after a recent crash (or two) thanks to Comodo firewall, I had to format and
re-install everything! I have set the Windows XP SP2 laptop up as usual
having done all of the updates and things one needs to do so no problems
there! I have encountered something which is more a nuisance than a problem
and I will try to explain!

There have been two users created, one by me, which is "User1" and the other
by ASP.NET, which occurred during the updates. When setting up Windows XP, I
did not create a password for my laptop username because when I boot up, I
want to go straight to my desktop without me having to wait to choose the
user or enter anything. Now I have to click on the "User1" icon to access
the desktop and when the laptop is left for any length of time, it
automatically goes to the window showing my "User1" icon, all I have to do is
click it to get back in again but I use the laptop for VoIP telephone as well
so I really don't want the laptop to "log out" at any time because then the
VoIP goes to voicemail. It didn't happen before the crash and I sometimes
have the laptop running on mains all day out of necessity for my small
business.

Is there a way to set the access up so that I boot up, run the laptop all
day and then just switch off at the end of the day, without the additional
act of logging in and out? I feel I must have done this on the previous
installation but it was 3 years ago and I cannot remember if I did anything
special.

Regards

Buster

Doh! Doh! Doh!

didn't I just know it was going to be something very simple! I think I have
just experienced my first "senior moment". A chap called Steve Rollins
identified the cause and solution - a link to the thread is at the bottom.
Thank you Steve!!!

Try Start | Control Panel | Display | Screensaver. Change the wait to
whatever time limit you want. If you don't want to be logged out when the
screensaver kicks in untick the on resume check box.
