Hello,

We have a presentation set for tomorrow and want to make sure the presenter
doesnt go past a certain point in the presentation.

In essecnce we want to be able to turn off the advance button, loop between
a couple of slides so basically they arent leaving, or if they hit the
advance button again it takes them back a specific slide. Again with the idea
that they would simply go between to identicle slides.

I looked in the help and online but cant seem to find out how to do it
quickly. Can anyone suggest something?

You can make use of Custom Show to loop through a set of selected slides.

First, click Slide Show > Custom Shows.
Create a new custom show and add the slides you want to loop into the custom
show.
Once you are done, close custom show.
Click Slide Show > Set Up Show.
Under Show options, put a checkmark to "Loop continuously until 'Esc'".
Click Ok.
Right click on the thumbnail of the slides that have been added into custom
show, select Hide Slide.

Now, add a dummy slide just before the slides.
Create an action button on the dummy slide and have the action button
hyperlinks to the Custom Show. This will allow you to enter the custom show
once you click on the action button.
Put a checkmark to "Show and return" if you want to return to the dummy
slide.

When viewing the presentation, clicking the action button on the dummy slide
will bring you to the custom show. Press Esc key to go back to the dummy
slide.

In addition to Shawn's suggestion, you could go to the Slide Show menu
and choose Set Up Show, and select the range of slides you want to show
so the presentation won't show the other slides. Another alternative is
to hide all the slides past the last slide you want shown. These ideas
won't get you "stuck" on the last slide, but they won't let you go past
it (i.e, the show will just end after the last slide you wanted to
show).
