Stop ads in html mail...?

I know you can use popup stoppers on webpages, but how do you stop the
annoying ads that come in html mail?
I get a daily comic strip sent to me, but it has ads in it and I have
tried adding the URLs (looked in email source) to the pop-up stopper
program but it doesn't work.
Is there *any* way to workaround this? Thanks

Don`t read it. And send a angry mail that you don´nt want it anymore. Done.

Well, I'm not 100% sure if you mean spam... but you can try this:

First download SpamPal (www.spampal.org) and then download the HtmlModify
plugin (www.ib-hoebel.de/SpamPal/)

Setup SpamPal and then Whitelist the email addresses your friends or companies
that you want to receive from (ie. containing html and non-html message)

Once done, htmlmodify will remove web-bugs and offline links to the sites that
contain graphics for the adds (in addition to marking emails as spam)

Obviously, see the SpamPal manual for setup intructions...

Cheers,

Steve

Hm, I didn't even think about that being what the OP was referring to.
I thought s/he meant blocking the ads that come in HTML newsletters.

You might as well use something like pegasus mail in the first place
which does not display off site graphic links. Still Pmail doesn't stop
images/adverts if they are sent as an attachment though.

Aaron (my email is not munged!)

If I stop all html content then I won't see the comic. It is just the
ads above and below the strip that are annoying!
