Hello. I shall briefly explain my system spec. I am running a Dell
Dimension 2400 with a Celeron 2.6 ghz processor. It has 1GB RAM, and an 80
GB Primary HDD. I am running Windows XP Home SP2. I also have a BT Voyager
Wirelss Network Card Installed, and an IDE Raid Card. I do not actually use
a Raid Configuration, but use it for the extra IDE ports it provides, as I am
running a 250GB Western Digital, and two 320 GB Western Digital HDDS through
this RAID card. All of which are formatted in NTFS. Key products im running
are the latest BETA versions of Messenger8 and IE7, as well as Office 2003
Professional.

Ever since I have installed Office 2003, i have been getting a blue screen
with the code STOP 0x000000B8. At first I thought I had a virus and ran a
scan using Avast. When it found nothing I did a complete format of my
primary HDD and clean install. After this i thought I had it solved, as my
computer ran for a week straight before it crashed again. The crashes don't
appear to be in any kind of pattern, ie when particular programs load, and
not after periods of time, they can happen after a few minutes, and then not
happen for days.

I have tried removing Office 2003 completely, and the problem is not solved.
I believe it may be a conflict between my raid card and office as this site
talks of my problem:
http://www.computerperformance.co.uk/exchange2003/exchange_2003_clustering.htm,
but does not talk of a solution. The last time it crashed i used event
viewer to take this information:

If anyone can offer any help and advice that doesn't involve me formatting
again, or removing my raid card and/or office would be much appreciated. I
use both of these functions of my pc every day, i literally could not live
without them.

Chris

Hello Chris
True Vector is involved with Zone Alarm, which I assume you have as a
Firewall.
You do not say if you have done a Google('true vector' will do), which will
bring plenty of hits - I know as I have been there before.
Are you a tester of beta products - if you are not and not too savvy with
computers in general(like me), the advice in general to not use them - let
others be the guinea-pigs and get the problems etc
Sorry its more of a self-help answer :-) :-)

As Antioch said, True Vector is a component of the Zone Alarm firewall
so it is the primary suspect as the cause of your problems.

I therefore suggest that you consider uninstalling Zone Alarm
completely and activating the Windows XP Firewall instead to see if
that resolves the problem.

If it does then you can leave things as they are, although the Windows
XP firewall will not protect you against unwanted outgoing traffic
such as spyware that "phones home". Or you can try reinstalling Zone
Alarm or some other third party firewall product such as Outpost or
Omniquat instead.

Good luck

Further to my responding post to you. I tried to find a copy of the solution
which I had saved - but after searching for a while I suddenly realised it
was on my previous comp and not transferred to this one.
All I can say is I continued to use Zone Alarm afterwards and the answer was
where I was directed in a Googl search
