Hi all,
I have been getting blue screened after using chkdsk,
getting the following message:
STOP 0x0000007E, followed by several hexadecimal codes,
several more lines of info, and a reference to fs_rec.sys.
Well, after doing a bit more searching, I believe I've
found one answer to this problem. In a post to
alt.os.windows.xp on 8/8/03, "Pilgrim" spoke of solving
the problem by uninstalling Ahead Software's "InCD"
version 4.0.1.21 (their latest CDRW burning software). I
too use InCD v4, so I uninstalled it, and bingo! the blue
screen shutdown stopped occuring. I re installed it, and
the problem returned.
This won't solve everyone's problems regarding this
issue, but just in case it helps anyone else, I thought
I'd post my findings. (My next stop is to give Ahead a
bug report, although I suspect I won't be the first to
tell them about it. <grin>)
Cheers,
Roger.
