I just swapped a new motherboard into my dad's system, fully expecting to
have to repair Windows XP afterwards via the normal process: boot from CD,
press R to repair selected installtion, let it go and we're good. However,
setup doesn't detect any previous installations, so the only options are to
do a fresh install or a reformat + install, neither of which are very
appealing. How can I make setup see the installation in order to repair it?
[Windows ME is installed on the same hard drive (different partition), and
we can boot into that just fine, so any file editing/copying/whatever won't
be a big deal. All the partitions are FAT32 as well.]
