Hi

Well, it is hardware so could anyone tell me how to stock my ink cartridges
over the summer.

I'm going away tomorrow and my appartement faces south ( a real oven)

I've turned off the system so the printer can not clean itself as it does
occassionally.

I've got around 80 Euros of ink in my Brother Printer and don't want to
come back after a month to find it has all dried up like it did two years
ago in my old Canon printer

So, I have taken them out and put them in a plastic bag in the fridge.

Is this ok or has anyone got a better idea?

What about the printer itself?

What can I do there?

Thanks in advance

I would get the last remaining ink out of the printers print head or
cartridge so it does not dry out and clog.
Wrap the stuff in the fridge in multiple layers of paper towels so as to
absorb any moisture and place them in a fresh bags (double bag it) back into
the fridge.

Hi

Just for the record and for anyone who is interested;

Three of the cartridges seemed to be ok after a couple of hours (no leaks)

I'd put them the right way up of course (hole in the air)

But the black cartridge which was not an original and had been filled in a
shop started to leak although it was the same way up.

Looks like it has a little hole on the top either to fill it or perhaps to
let air escape or sth.

So I've now tried putting it on its side as it is half empty and it looks
like the ink doesn't reach either hole in this position.

I've also scotched over the holes.

Any other ideas tonite welcome.

Thanks

Move the ENTIRE PRINTER to a cooler location.

Leave it with a friend if need be.

If you take the carts out, you are leaving a print head
open to the air where the connection to the cart was.
The ink that was still in the head will dry out and likely
clog it.

You really need to exercise the printer once a month
though, even if the carts are in place. I have not yet
found ANY inkjet printer that will not show some clogged
jets if you leave it for over a month - running a few cleaning
cycles will usually bring them back.
