Got new printer/scanner/copier etc.
Installed drivers. Everything works besides scanner.
When booting we get message that STISVC.EXE failed to initialize
properly, which seems that it may be the reason why it does not work.

message. What can I do?

Well you can change the Startup for the service to manual and after the
desktop settles down see if you can start it manually. Let me know how that
works out.

I does not work. I tried to restart the service from within the services
explorer, and I get the same message. I can't initialize. Please help if you
know how to resolve this.

Look in devive manager under SCSI. If you do not have that there then that
is the trouble. Scanners require that. Just let me know if you have a SCSI
device in the Device Manager. Sometimes in Windows 2000 it is difficult
getting that in.

what would I have SCSI in a IDE machine?
