still photo slideshows on youtube

I'm making a slideshow out of digital images. I'm wondering what settings I
need to select when exporting out of Movie Maker. So far, when I upload to
Youtube, the movie is grainy and pixelated. The project has a 3-minute mp3
and 57 images.

On a related note, what DPI should my images be so that after MM=>Youtube,
the final result is a good quality video slideshow?

TIA

Hi, thanks for the link. Lots of useful info there. But I'm not sure I saw
anything about what settings I should use on export. Except for the profile
tht you can download. I downloaded it and selected that setting when saving
the movie file, but then I got an error mesage that MM can't save the movie
to the specified location. When I don't choose that profile in the settings,
then I can save it as normal.
So something seems to be wrong with the profile, unless I am missing a step.
Any suggestions?
Thanks again.

The profile should work...maybe you need
to convert your pictures to the Windows
Bitmap [.bmp] format before importing into
Movie Maker.

Fact is....YouTube will reduce the resolution
of your video clips when you upload them.

If your purpose is just to share your movies
with friends and family you could upload
them to a site like the following and the quality
would not be reduced.

"YouSendIt"
http://www.yousendit.com/

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the "Browse" button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give
you the download link. Just copy/paste
it into the message to your recipients
who can download and view the file on
their computer.

FWIW...for projects that include still shots
and music (no video clips) PhotoStory 3
might be worth a try.

FWIW...Be sure that you downloaded the
Movie Maker profile and not the one for PhotoStory
which will generate the error you received when
used in Movie Maker.

The file you need for Movie Maker would be:

(standard)
YouTube-MM2-standard-PapaJohn.prx
or
(widescreen)
YouTube-MM2-widescreen-PapaJohn.prx

I've tried PhotoStory3, and the quality is crap, even before it was uploaded
to Youtube. I'm trying to create a picture slideshow that i can embed into a
webpage. That's why I need to use Youtube or similar video hosting site.

I know Youtube will reduce the quality of a video after it's uploaded, but
I've seen slideshows on Youtube before where the still shots are crisp and
clear. Those people must be using different software I guess.

Sorry, if the info I've posted for you is of no use.

If you simply wish to upload a video clip and share
it with friends and family...try the following:

"YouSendIt"
http://www.yousendit.com/

All you have to do is enter an e-mail
address in the "To:" (Recipient) field
and click the "Browse" button to select
the file you wish to upload. Then click
the "Send It" button.

The next screen that appears will give

If you are having resolution issues with PhotoStory
3 and with Movie Maker I would have to wonder
about the resolution of your source files.

If your source files are high resolution...the
custom profiles should solve the issue.

Also, when I used the Profile for "PhotoStory3" from PapaJohn's website, the
wmv file was rejected from Youtube. (unable to convert video file).
