Ok, thanks for the help before everyone, but none of that
seemed to fix my problem, let me repost, and clarify a few
things.
My Internet connection is a cable service. It goes from
out of the wall, into a cable modem, on to a linksys
router, and then is split up to my 3 computers. I have one
running windows 95, one running 98, and one running
windows XP. This was working just fine up until yesterday,
when I installed windows XP home edition, I had been
previously running ME. I have done everything I can think
of, but the computer running XP cant seem to get connected
to the internet (and as far as I know, the network.) The
other 2 computers work fine still, I am on the Windows 98
one now. It cant be a bad port in my router, because it
was working just fine up until I installed XP, and I have
even changed the plugs around, same thing happens, the 2
windows 9x systems work fine, XP cant connect. When I view
the status of my connection, it says I have sent a whole
bunch of packets, but the packets received is still at
zero. I could use all the help I can get. One more time to
clarify. My cable modem corrects directly to the linksys
router, which connects to the 3 computers. Thank you for
your help.

I'm just newbie myself, but one tip i can give you: did you turn off XP
native firewall? I've read that it causes nothing but trouble and it's on by
default.
