can anyone tell me where to go to find FRAGMENTED file so
that I may DELETE them ? Ten i might free-up memory
space ?

Oops Chris :o)

You dont delete them, you defrag them, like we said use the Disk
Defragmenter in Windows XP. They dont and can't take up memory.

Fragmented files do take up memory but defragging them will not *free up*
memory.

An understandable and rare slip :o)

Yes, "They dont and can't take up memory." thats the same thing as you just
said. it's not going to free up memory because they can't and dont sit in
the memory.

It's not going to free up memory (strictly speaking 'storage space' on the
hard drive) because defragging only rearranges the files positions
(fragmented or not) on the hard drive.

Perhaps you're talking about a different 'memory space' than I believe the
OP may be referring to. ;o)

In any case defragging is definitely worthwhile.

Run chkdsk from the CMD window. Type "chkdsk /?" (without
quotes) to see all the supported checkdisk commands.

Since you are ignoring other posts that answer your question;

Insert your WinXP CD Rom, set your Bios to boot from CD , ad reboot. When
The winXp installer loads, Delete the partition on you boot drive. Boot up
the computer in the boxes it came in. Take it back to where you bought it.
You should not own a computer if you cannot understand how to handle a
trivial issues like disk/file fragmentation.

Memory is memory. Hard drive space is hard drive space.

If the poster does not know what he wants, why should we second guess him?

The plain fact is, fragmented files do not take up memory space - anymore
that when they are defragmented.

Period!
