Here's what I've done ... tell me what I'm doing wrong... this is driving me nuts...
Copy outlook.pst from desktop to laptop (already played games with "hidden" files to get it to show up, so it's overwriting the original installation "default" pst file.
On laptop, ensured that new copy of outlook.pst was not set up as Archive or Readonly by unclicking those in properties, same for the Outlook folder in which they resided. Closed folder, reopened and checked!
Start Outlook on laptop. It looks good, but there's a problem.
All my messages copied properly, I can read/reply from laptop... GOOD
All items in my task lists show up properly, with last updates done on desktop... GOOD
Click on contacts -- all looks good here... GOOD
Open a new email and start to type in addresses... BAD
Error message:
The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated with this
address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do
not have permissions. For information on how to remove this folder from the
Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help.
