I have been trying to fix this problem since 9 AM at work
and finally decided to reformat the hard drive and
reinstall Windows XP. After all this, still no MSN
Messenger. I was able to log in from home and was logged
on for a while, but when I returned around 9 PM, I found
that I was logged out of MSN Messenger, and could not
relog back in. This time, I didn't receive the error
message with the code in it (0x8100301). Just the one
stating to check the connection ... the same message
everyone else on this board has been getting.

Where is the MSN Messenger Server Status???? Can't log
into that either. Is there anyone from Microsoft MSN
Messenger checking these boards?????

of course no one from msn is checking these boards there all trying to figure what the hells goin on with there program. its a big in-****in-convenience to have to sit here and try to fix it

My msn messenger has been sayin the same exact thing...i
guess it is somethin with the service!

I thought my problems began when I tried to install a
smiley plugin (SmileyBot and AIMutation)for AOL Instant
Messenger. This was the same time I lost my MSN
Messenger, therefore, I thought I caused my problem.
After searching the boards all day long, and coming up
with all sorts of "solutions", none of them worked ... It
would have been nice if there was a way for Microsoft to
alert their messenger members when the server is down, or
maybe post a BIG BOLD MESSAGE on MSN's Webpage. This
could have prevented a whole lot of aggravasion!!
Nevertheless, I'm in the middle or redoing my whole PC
cause when i tried to use the System Restore, it wouldn't
restore to any previous restore points. I thought I was
the one that messed up when all the time, it was just a
server issue.
