I've tried the menu - Internet Options - Advanced Tab options as outlined in
other posts. I've also been to support.microsoft.com and tried the solutions
outlined in knowledge base id number 281679. One of the last steps mentioned
there is to check to see if registry entry
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Interface\{00020400-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
Name: (Default)
Value: IDispatch
is present and correct.
I cannot find this entry but can't be sure I'm looking correctly. I ran
regedit.exe and then did a find for HKLM. Was this reasonable? I have an HP
machine with an XP/OS and IE6 was already loaded so I'm reluctant to remove
it (which is the last solution suggested) and re-install it except as a last
resort . I'm also reluctant to mess around with the registry (though I would
if it was a matter of editing an existing record). Thanks

Bob,

Exactly what type of script error are you trying to fix?

I don't know what happened to Teddy's post, but she had the answer. I have
some pre-loaded software on my machine called Freedom. It's an anti-virus
program and one of the options inside it, is something called Ad Manager .
When I disabled Ad Manager my script errors dis-appeared. Thank You Teddy

Weird, the post I'm answering wasn't here when I made my previous one, maybe
an hour ago, But Teddy had the answer to my problem. Disabling Ad Manager in
an anti-virus program called Freedom did the trick.
