Sticky new drive letter?

I followed someone's instructions (sorry, rotton with names) and renamed
my CD/DVD (to S.

Is there a way to make that stick? Something keeps changing it to the
next letter after my hard dive. I'm not sure, but if I remember right if
I put in a music CD it stays on S:, but if I put in a data CD it changes.
