steup password

when computer starts up i press f2 the reason is i wish to change boot
sequence from cd drive back to hard drive but when i enter system security
then to setup password to be able to change boot seq i cannot remmember
password is there any way to either retrieve.any help would be great.

If this is a desktop, refer to your motherboard manual to see if there
are jumper settings to clear CMOS. If this is an OEM desktop (Dell,
Sony, etc.) refer to the manual that came with the computer or look on
the OEM's website for this information.

Otherwise, open the computer (unplug it!) and remove the motherboard
battery to clear CMOS. On some motherboards, you only need to leave the
battery out for a few minutes. On others, I've had it take a day. YMMV.
This will reset the BIOS to default (no password).

If you have a laptop, you will need to post back with the make/model or
contact the laptop mftr.'s tech support for instructions.
