I'm attempting to graph data and I've been told that powerpoint does not
offer a "step chart" function. Basically, when graphing this data (vertical
axis = interest rates and horizontal axis = time periods) the line is
smoothed when in fact it should look like steps on a change in values either
up or down.

any help?

Thanks.

One approach would be to create a vertical bar chart, then adjust the bar
width/spacing so that bars touch, then set the bar outline to none.

If you want a line rather than bar step chart, I'm not sure there's a "clean"
way to do it.

It is posible to get a line step graph in excel by using error bars and then
paste into ppt. Its a complicated process and though it sounds lke "graphing
sacriledge" I'd just start with a blank graph and draw the line with the
freeform tool! You can even edit the graph using "edit points"
