Steam lagging on windows 7 ultimate and not see all ram

Hello on the sam machine you run xp pro steam runs fine but not with windows 7 ultimate it laggs every 10 mins or so i have some stuff turned off like updates and all other rubbish not needed etc. running avg 2011 with all things off also
on other pc not able to see full ram its a Gigerbyte mobo P55A UD6 ...I7 Quad 2.8 24 gig? of ram (4x6 corsair tr3x6g1600c9 .xms3 ddr3 . windows 7 ultimate 64 bit .if i put the other two in the mobo does not boot up ! so just running with 4x 6gig stipps

Just checking, what do you mean by Steam lagging? Is it the games you run from steam, or the steam console itself?

That model number (corsair tr3x6g1600c9) is a 6gb pack, 3x2gb sticks.

hello thank you for the reply, the ram are i see pack of 3x2gig sticks not 6 gig / stick lol the lagg is when i play left 4 dead (1) also the graphics is a 1gb pcie card radion hd 4890 vx

Hi thought it would not lagg via graphics cos no lagg on xp ,poss some windows 7 program running just if anyoneelse had come across this, same pc just win7 lagg but not on xp
