I have an Index of 3.7 and never had any problems running this really old
game. Now on Vista HL.EXE has 100% usage and i have sound and framedrops. In
the Menu of CS it shows 99fps and everything is setup okay and i havent
changed anything since XP.

Any ideas how this can be solved?

I'm just installing now to see if I can replicate the issue.

You're lucky Wolfenstein works at all, the ATI drivers don't currently
support OpenGL, which Wolf uses.

When ATI release drivers with OpenGL support you'll be good to go.

No sound issues here using a Radeon X1900XTE and an Audigy 2. What sort of
hardware do you have?

they do accualy....i had problems with previous versions of ati drivers...
but they added it i think...

Hi, here are my specs:

- AMD Athlon XP 3200+, 2205mhz
- 2 x 512MB DDR 400 (dual channel, MDT and Infinineon)
- Asus A7N8X Motherboard Nforce2
+ Nvidia Audio and Nvidia Lan (nforce2 drivers, included with vista)
- Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT with 128MB (agp 8x)

Additionally i have a Hauppauge DVB-T Card (HVR1300),
but i dont think that the drivers making any trouble.

Overall i think the components harmonize pretty well.
According to the recent Steam hardware survey i still
have an system that is used by the majority.

I'd bet my money on the nVidia drivers, make sure they're up to date as
nVidia release new ones.

I just played a round of CS Source. Everything seemed fairly normaly. I
haven't played CS in about 2 years, so at first I couldn't tell if it was a
problem, or just the way the game played. But by the end of the round, I
determined it was the game.
No Choppiness or sound issues

I'm running a X1900XT and a X-FI card. with RTM of Vista Home Prem

I don't think the ATI cards are actually supporting the OpenGL part, though
it does appear the games should work. I just played a little Doom3 with my
ATI card and the RC 2 drivers. It looks like Quake 2 did when it came out.
And that was with everything set on Ultra. Funny, doom3 doesn't seem nealry
as scary when there aren't any Shadows and the darkness is pretty much
removed. Plus the creatures like pretty bland.

But anyways, the OGL games run, just without all the OGL features.

I assume you mean ATI Drivers. ATI cards work in Apple Macs, and Macs
definately use OpenGL quite a lot.

Yes, I was thinking drivers and for some reason wrote card. Guess I should
lay off the crack, before writing responses :)
