I am using a laptop and am connected to a wireless router. This may seem
like a silly question but everytime I close my laptop it disconnects me from
the internet. Is there any way to keep me connected when closed? It really
aggrivates me when I am downloading something. Thanks all!

If closing the lid puts the laptop to sleep or hibernates, and this is
normal, then unless you change that behaviour the answer is no.

When the computer goes to sleep it will disable the network adapter. It
won't matter if your connection is wired or wireless in this case, but
wireless adapters are often disabled in power-saving schemes, as the radio
requires a fair amount of power.

Closing the lid on a laptop usually causes it to go to sleep or into
hibernation. Power is turned off to many of the hardware devices to
conserve power. This includes the wireless adapter, so it disconnects.

You may be able to adjust the power settings in the "Power Options" section
of the Control Panel. On the left hand side, "Choose what closing the lid
does".

Thank you so much everyone!

You're welcome. You might find that another choice is to manually set the
computer to lock, and adjust the power settings to turn off the monitor,
after a period of time. That will keep the NIC active, but not allow
others to access the system or view the screen.
