How can I get some type of "work in progress" indicator when I when I click
on my hyperlink. I inserted a button for a hyperlink and it works fine, but
when you click on it, the little hour glass that usually spins around next to
the pointer letting you know something is happening dosen't appear.

That's why there's a progress indicator in the status bar at the bottom of a
page in the browser.

The hourglass icon is a system feature, used to indicate to the user that
the computer is doing "something" behind the scenes, and is normally
associated with executing a system function.
