Status bar showing "shortcut" instead of hyperlink

I need help with this problem.

My status bar doesnt show a hyperlink address, instead it
shows "shortcut" to the website for instance when I hover
over a hyperlink, this is what it reads
"shortcut http://microsft.com",
instead of the full address. How can I make it show the
actual hyperlink address again?
 
Uncheck the "Show Friendly URLs" option under the Advanced tab in the
Internet Options.
