David W.

hello,
I know that there has to be some way to resolve my little
problem. I've tried all of the suggestions that I've
found at various sites, and so far they haven't worked.
My problem is this, I really don't want to have the
status bar appear, but everytime I connect to the
internet and my homepage loads, I always have to go to
the view section and un-check the status bar for it to go
away. I've been in the registry and made sure in the
current user section under internet explorer main, that
show status bar say no. Is there any way that I can
actually delete or disable the status bar.I know some
people have the other problem about having to go in and
check the view everytime, I wish I did. Thanks

David,
You've probably tried this but... uncheck Status Bar both in IE and Windows
Explorer.

Dear Don,
Thanks for the suggestion, but that's probably the first
thing that I tried. I'm thinkinking that some software
that I might have used might have tripped some switch
somewhere, but so far I haven't been able to find it. I
use ie 6 on windows xp home edition, and I've already
went into the registry and changed the item in there so I
could re-install ie, but that didn't seem to help. Thanks
