StaticSelectedStyle for Menu not working on Master page

<StaticSelectedStyle Font-Bold="true" ForeColor="White" />

It does partially work. The font is bolded for selected MenuItem but the
color of the font doesn't change. Is some CSS style overriding? How to debug
this?
