After turning on the computer, while it is starting up,
at one point it stops and states that "you must press
delete to continue". I would like to eliminate this step
so I can turn it on and leave the room until startup is
complete. Is this possible?

Check your startup settings to find out what is causing this.
Applications that start with Windows can be found here:
- the WIN.INI, section [windows], entries "run=" and "load="
- the Registry keys
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
- the folders
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\{username}\START MENU\PROGRAMS\STARTUP

XP" (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=310560).

Hi, Judy.

What make and model computer? At what point does this message appear?

This sounds like something your computer is putting on the screen BEFORE
Windows even starts to load. Something in the BIOS of your computer may be
causing this. Do you ever see a Windows logo before that point? Tell us
more about the exact sequence of events when you turn on the computer and we
may be able to help you track it down.
