Run MSConfig.
Use it carefully, cause there are things that have to start up, there are
others that don't.

If your really serious, search for BOOTVIS at microsoft.

how can i get some things off my start up so that it
loads faster?

Look at each program to see if it has an option not to start
automatically. If it doesn't, you can disable it by running
MSCONFIG from the Start | Run line.

But in my view, "so that it loads faster" is a poor reason to get
rid of a startup
program. You should get rid of a startup program if it doesn't do
anything useful for you, or if the use it provides is not worth
the overhead it provides when running. How long the computer
takes to start up doesn't really matter very much, if, like most
people, you boot once a day.

When I get up in the morning, I turn on my computer and go get my
coffee. When I come back, it's done booting; I don't know how
long it took, and I don't care.
