Startup..stuck on welcome

when i turn PC on it freezes on Welcome screen or takes long time to kick
in...ive been turning PC on and off til i get lucky. HELP! .. Am i harming
PC? any fixes? THANKS!

This sounds like a hardware problem, perhaps a failing power supply.

Testing hardware failures often involves swapping out suspected parts
with known-good parts. If you can't do the testing yourself and/or are
uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional
computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigStoreUSA).

This could be a lot of things.

Everyone goes to their experiance, and my experiance is that it could be a
failing hard drive.

Until you can prove that the hard drive is okay, the first thing you should
do is back up your data, so that if it is the hard drive, and it fails
completely, you can at least save your data.
