Hi

I am trying to run some software on the server (Win2000 standard) when the
server starts (some call logging software). I can run it as a strartup
script via group policies however I want the program's gui to be accessable,
and if I do this I can see the process is running under the task manager but
I cannot see it. Is there a way of running programs so that they would be
visible when a user logs onto the computer?

Not entirely sure on this but I think running it as a startup script also
causes it to exit because of windows waiting for the script to finish, and
when it never finishes windows stops the script.

Has anyone got any ideas how I can set the program to run all the time
without having to launch it manually, while still allowing a user to access
the GUI of the program. Thanks for your help.

You could put a shortcut to it in the Documents and Settings\all users\start
menu\programs\startup folder... that would start the program up when the
user logs in, and give them the gui.

Thanks for the response. The problem with that is that it would run more
than once if more than one user logs in (and I don't want that, nor would
the program allow it). Also I want it to run ideally without a user needing
to login. Thanks
