Don't know if it is at all possible, but is there an app that will
control the startup order of program that begin when Windpws starts...?

There are a couple of apps that I would like to start near the end
rather than loading first.
Ideas anyone...?

The best one. Shows all startup progs, in the time order they start.
Allows you to delete any you want to get rid of.

This applet shows you what programs are configured to run during
system bootup or login. These programs include ones in your startup
folder, Run, RunOnce, and other Registry keys. You'll probably be
surprised at how many executables are launched automatically.
Autoruns works on Windows 9x and Windows NT/2K/XP.

And it makes it easy to see where to put progs to make them start in
the order you want. The autoruns program does not place things in
registry or folders, or in lines in win.ini, but makes the task a lot
easier by showing exactly where to put them.

This is a great little program. I use it to check that no software has
been inserted into the startup sequence without my knowledge, and I
use it to check that my computer starts up as I want it to do.

Earlier I used Startup.cpl and similar progs, but this catches things
the other progs missed, and show the time sequence of what is
happening.

SOrry for my ignorance whilst using it, but how do I move the entries
up/down to change the order. There is only a Jump to... button.

That means you have to insert the right keys into the registry
yourself, or place links in the right folder, or write a line in your
win.ini, but the program makes this task a lot easier by showing you
in what places to put things to get them to start in the right order.
