Startup Problems with XP

My problem is that when my system restarts, it will go
through and up to the "Welcome" screen but then my
desktop remains blank. It will do this 3-4 times of re-
starting before it finally takes. I had read that some
old .dll files can cause boot problems but I went through
the process of changing the old .dll files in the root
directory to .old files but I still have the problem.
Any other suggestions? Yesterday, I upgraded to XP PRo
hoping it would take care of the problem but no such
luck! Help!

I'm not absolutely sure about your computer's setup, but
what I did in mine was to do the following:
1. Go To Start
2. Go To RUN
3. Type MSCONFIG
4. Hit <ENTER>
5. Go to Startup
6. UNCHECK NWIZ.EXE
7. Apply, close, and reboot.

This might work...

Good Luck!!

1. The startup tab of the System Configuration Utility is for diagnosis, and
is not a permanent solution for startup or shutdown issues.

2. nwiz.exe sets preferences and options for your nVidia-based graphics
card.
