Startup problem

My buddies comp keeps rebooting from the beginning
everytime XP begins to load. I've thought about trying
an MS-DOS startup disk, but have no idea where to go from
there. Any help would be appreciated.

I am having the same problem with the ishost.exe and with the
start-up-pause thing. Can someone explain to me how to do the repair
install as directed above?
