Startup problem

Irecently started receiving the error message stating
there is a problem & would I like to send an error report
each time I start Explorer. After I send the report it
works fine but there must be something wrong as I also am
not able to launch my .jpg files that Explorer used to
start. They are still registered under Iexplore.exe.
I am using Windows 98 SE & the latest Explorer 6. I have
run the Explorer repair application several times but it
hasn't helped. I have also ran Adaware & Internet Cleanup
with no luck.
The error report shows -
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2800.1106
ModName: shdocvw.dll ModVer: 6.0.2800.1106
offset: 00007cec

I would greatly appreciate any help anybody could give me
with this annoying problem that appears to also have an
affect on my .jpg files.
