startup problem

When I boot up windows xp "My Computer" starts
automatically rather than showing the Desktop.
This has only started happenintg in last few days (only
had the new comp 2 weeks)and I have done nothing to cause
this. Not that I am aware of!
Any ideas?

Open My Computer and select Tools/Folder Options/View tab. Scroll down and
make sure that the "Restore previous folder windows at log on" option is not
enabled.
