Startup - opening last web

I set Options-General to open last web on startup, but it doesn't. It always
opens a blank web, wasting my time.

If you have the web open and just exit Frontpage, then it will automatically
open the same site upon next launch.

If however, from within Frontpage, from the File menu, you close the site
and then exit Frontpage, then Frontpage will open up with a blank page.

Hope this helps

I always save the page I'm working on, then click on the X at the top to
close the program. I've only had this problem since I downloaded an upgrade
yesterday

That is exactly how I exit out also.

You said that you upgraded or did you mean to say updated?

You can close the page but
If you close the web prior to closing Frontpage, then this web will not
automatically open up next time you launch Frontpage.

If you save the web page that you modified, then there is nothing in cache
except what the OS is utilizing like Cntrl Z which has nothing to do with
site itself.

If you X out, but there are changes that has been made and not saved, ie -
cache, then Frontpage will prompt you to save changes, and that clear's the
cache for Frontpage.

Then when Frontpage is re-opened, it will then open up the last web that you
were working on. Even if it is local.

This has been a feature since Frontpage 97.

The cached copy of your web (*.web) can get corrupted and prevent you from
opening your web in FrontPage. Closing FrontPage without closing all pages
and closing the web site is one of the ways this can happen.

FrontPage leaves stuff behind all the time - download and run FPCleaner and
you'll see for yourself: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm Run the
Clear FrontPage "Temporary" Files and Clear FrontPage Web Cache files
(*.web) functions.

I have no argument with (or use for) the Open Last Web Option - I never use
it.

Not necessarily so.

Yes you will be prompted to save changes, but the cache might not always be
cleared.

Not necessarily so.
If a user opened a random page and not a web, there is no "Last opened" web.

This has been a feature since Frontpage 97.

And it has a few bugs.
