Could anyone recommend a really good, freeware, startup maanger that
could control the 200/300 silly little things that Windows seems to
think it is necessary to run all the time.

Code Stuff starter (don't have a link), and expecially if you're running XP
either version. It is the nicest of the nice ;)

I use a little utility called StartupRun by someone called Nir Sofer.
Right-click the entries.... It works in all 32-bit Windows operating
systems (Only 27 Kb).

There is more interesting free stuff there, all Boomer-sized (btw,
where is Boomer?).

1.) Winipcfg shows information regarding dialup/network adapters,
not startups.

2.) Winipcfg only exists on Windows 9x/ME, I believe.

Perhaps you meant Msconfig, which exists in 98/SE/ME/XP/2K3?
