I am new to Access 2003

Many years ago, I created a quote database, for our Sales Dept, with a
startup screen that is a menu to enter data. do reports and etc. But now I
am trying to create a 2nd menu that only the VP can use. I created a 2nd
menu form, but can't figure how to create a shortcut to this menu so that the
VP can put this on his desktop for easy access. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to what I can do?

Hi,
if you right click on the form in the database window you get an option to
create a shotcut. Now this is very inflexabile. You might want to concider
some evaluation process when the db opens which determines who is trying to
get access and based on that lunch the appropriate forms.

If your database is correctly configured, it should be pretty easy. By
correctly configured, I mean a split database with the back end on a shared
folder and each user has their own copy of the front end on their desktop,
then all you would need to do is identify a different start up form in the
VP's copy.

I would look in help about the /cmd command line switch. I use that for
various functions and I beleive it would work well for your situation.

After you create the code you just create a specific shortcut for the VP
that uses that command.
