Not sure if this is the right NG or not, but...

I'm running XP Home. I've noticed the Startup folder is on my desktop.
Frankly, I can't remember if it's always been there or if I (or my kids)
mistakenly may have dragged it there. Does it normally go on the desktop?
If not, where does it belong? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. It appears to be the original startup folder, not a
short cut. Where would that go? Thanks again.

Your Start Menu is under C:\Documents and Settings\(current user)\
(Current user being whoever's profile you are logged in at the time. )
What you may be seeing is the shortcut that usually is on the
Start>Programs> , that may have accidentally
got moved.
Just highlight the shortcut STARTUP folder, click and drag it to the START
button, wait for it to open, then while still holding the folder go to
PROGRAMS
Then drop it in there. It will be back where it started.

Hope this helps, thanks!
