What command used on a startup disk can you use to demonstrate the masterboot
record is healthy but which does not validate the file system on the drive?
I appreciate any help one can offer.

All changes to Windows' startup are best done using msconfig, but back up
your boot.ini file first. Then copy the boot.ini to a new startup disk and
restore the original boot.ini file.

I'm sorry, but this is the best I can do; but surely someone more
knowledgable can take it from here and fill you in with the exact commands.
