On a previous windows up, which I downloaded, caused my
startup configuration to now require my to click on my
name at the Welcome Screen. How do I get back to the
configuration where I don't have to sign in.

Hi William,

Windows is installed, not downloaded. :o)

1. Go to Start/Run and type in: control userpasswords2 and press ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

Add Control UserPasswords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

Ah, my bad! :o(

Ok, that had to do with the .Net Framework update. It adds another user
which disables auto-logon. .Net 1.0 does not create the user, .Net 1.1 does
create the user account with or without IIS being installed.
