I have a few xp machines that don't have the rounded new look.

Does anyone know how to recapture that look?

THanks,

John

First thing, right-click on the Desktop, select Properties, and then go to
the Appearance tab. Go in the drop-down list, and select "Windows XP
style." If that doesn't work, it's possible Windows has disabled the
feature for performance reasons. If that's the case, right-click on My
Computer, select Properties, click on the Advanced tab, click on the first
Settings button (under the heading "Performance - visual effects, etc..."),
click the Custom button, and then check the box next to "Use visual styles
on windows and buttons" - you'll have to scroll all the way down for that
one.

Hopefully that helps!

Thank you. That worked.

I had to go through the performance settings.

Should I be concerned that it did not originally show due to performance. Do
I need more RAM?

Thanks,

John

It could be for a number of reasons; either RAM, or perhaps even your CPU
and video hardware.
