Check the system configuration utility to see if there is an entry in
startup that is causing the system to look for the AIM file.
1/ Click start
2/ from the Start menu click Run
3/ In the Run dialogue box type: msconfig and then pressOK
4/ In the System configuration utility window click the Startup tab
5/ look down the list to see if you AIM application is listed. if it is then
remove the tick from the box next to the AIM entry. This will disable the
entry. Click OK
6/ You will need to restart your pc for any changes to take effect
7/ After re-starting a message will appear saying you System configuration
is using troubleshooting mode. There is a box on the bottom left of this
message window. Click the box to put a check mark in it and then press OK.
The box will not show the next time you boot your machine.
This is where i would look first. if nothing is there, then there are other
areas where you can look for the problem, but try this easy one first.
