Starting windows

When booting up PC, I get to enter password screen, put in password then it
goes back to enter password screen. I can't get past this screen to get into
windows. It's driving me mad!
 
Have you tried going into the built in administrator account? to do this do
Ctrl+Alt+del twice

Yes I have tried that, also tried F8 and trying to start up in safe mode.
Nothing seems to work. I can't even get into the built in recovery bit on my
hard drive. (It's a HP Pavilion) I've had it checked for viruses and spyware
and hardware failure, all of which came back as ok. Unfortunately the guy who
did this is stumped too!

What happens when you attempt to enter Safe Mode?

Borrow another keyboard, ps/2 and see if that helps.
 
Hi Elmo,

Same thing happens, get to the password screen and can't go no further. It
is definately the right password etc but just can't get past that screen.
Tried new mouse, keyboard etc....still nothing
