When I turn on my compputer it takes over 4 and 1/2 minutes before everything
is "started". I have useless programs in the startup process that I don't
need how do I remove them from startup (hidden icon area). Please help

Startup items are loaded from the Start Menu, Programs, Startup folder, or via the Registry. Many programs that auto-start, have an option to turn this feature on/off. That's the first place to check. Then click Start, Run and enter MSCONFIG Go to the Startup tab. Here you can disable the items that are loaded from the Registry and/or Start Menu. You'll be prompted to reboot. When you do, and log back on, you'll get a dialog indicating that you're in Selective Startup mode. This is normal. You can tell it OK, or you can check the box for "Don't show me this again." However, if you tell it to go to Normal startup, all of the things you've disabled will be re-enabled.
