Hello ..
I have certain programs that I need to run AUTOMATICALLY upon
system boot-up. My needs are thus:
I am going to have a certain PC, running Windows 2000
server, that will be in a "rack room" from away from human
intervention. The nature of this machine does not allow a
connection to internet. It will be serving a small number
of other PCs.
I have a certain application, written in Visual Basic, that
is required to run all the time. It is entirely possible
that there could be a power failure that causes this
computer to stop. On power-up, the machine will reboot. I
want this application to automatically start-up without
human intervention.
I see that it is possible to cause a user, lets say,
"Administrator" to automatically login on Windows 2000
professional on boot-up, but the procedure listed does not
work for Windows 2000 server. I know that it is possible
to have certain applications start up automatically upon
user login.
Does anyone know how to get a user to automatically log-in
under Windows 2000 server, or better yet, know how to get a
certain program to automatically execute on machine boot-up
without have a user log in?
TIA
Harvey
