Help

Last week, I couldn't get the TV in MMC 8.5 to initialize, windows SP2
seemed to sort that prob.

However now when you do the channel search, it finds nothing, even on
the intensive.

I have proved the antenna, with a portable TV and signal is good, but
the computer just will not see it - what am I missing or doing wrong

Steve

Perhaps you have the input set to cable when it should be set to antenna or
something of that sort?

I suspect the tuners are out of whack with your comments. I have the big TV on
the same connector as the ATI and all I see this moment is the un synched
signal.
Commercial just came on and it corrected itself. Still a rotten picture.
shifting now between a split screen with 75% on the bottom and 25% on top. and
now back to un synched.

The Big TV has a snowy screen, but it is stable.

And it seems this problems migrating to good channels. The above is my rotten
channel 2.

I got this AIW 9800 because the AIW 128 was such a good thing on my P1. I would
have figured something that cost 4 times as much built for a faster machine
would kick on this P4.

Totally disappointed and I have to wonder about those reviewers.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand what you're saying. When you say "I have
the big TV on the same connector as the ATI and all I see this moment is
the unsynched signal" it sounds like you're got the TV connected directly
to the antenna or cable or whatever and not going through the ATI and you
have a bad picture. If so, I fail to see how the ATI is responsible.

It may still be necessary to apply the PAL fix from Microsoft
<http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6d-e177-4a0e-91d0-b4310675b02b&DisplayLang=en>.
I don't see any indication that it is included in either DirectX 9.0c or
SP2.

In any case, if you're getting a bad picture with an AIW, try putting an
attenuator in the line--some of them tend to be intolerant of
excessively-strong signals.

It's a splitter. the computer and the TV share the same signal. same as it did
with the AIW 128 on the P1.

Whole lot of great new features with this AIW 9800. trouble is I have to
reinstall it just about once every week or two.
And then there's the crappy pix from one channel to the next.
