Starting RRAS disables one network card- win2K Server

I've got a curious situation where starting RRAS service causes one of
my netowrk cards to be disabled. I can stop RRAS and then
disable/enable the network card from Network Neighborhood Properties.
It seems to me this used to work. I did install drivers for a PPPoE
ADSL modem since the time I know this worked. Until I remembered that
it had worked, I thought the problem was hardware incompatability. Now
I'm not so sure. Has anyone seen anything like this. FWIW the NIC is a
Macronix MX98715 using driver version 2.13 (downloaded from Macronix
tonight after the Microsoft version 2.11 wasn't working).

Server is Win2K SP4.

Thanks

Devcon to enable network card

Hi there

Having the same problem on a Windows SBS 2003 server. I am creating a command or batch file to run after the Ras has diable the network card to use devcon and re-enable it. Have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=311272 to see if it will help you.
