Starting Over

I need some help. Everytime I go to use microsoft spyware when I click on it
I always get the set-up assistant. This happens everytime. I go throught
the whole thing set my settings run a scan close and then when I go to start
again none of my settings are saved and I have to start all over again. I
have uninstalled and reinstalled and it still happens. Please can someone
help me.

Try this fix to resolve your problem, from Bill Sanderson:

Here's what has worked for others in this situation:

1) Uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete the \program files\Microsoft Antispyware folder and all
subfolders. You will lose access to any Quarantined items, history, and
customized settings.
3) Reinstall Microsoft Antispyware, being sure to be logged on as the
administrator user who will customarily use the program.

I know you mentioned uninstalling and reinstalling before, but the key here
is step 2--one or more of the .gcd files that direct the programs behavior
is either corrupted, or has permissions set so that it isn't usable.

Let us know whether this does the job.
